STATEMENT
My work is influenced by the ancient Southwest, it’s fraught history with American nuclear power, and the kitschy extraterrestrial aftermath. I want to tell stories that combine the real and surreal with elastic lines and citric colors that give you benign vertigo.
About
Melody Calderon is a cartoonist, artist, and muralist from the crusty inferno of Albuquerque, New Mexico. After juggling many odd jobs, comics have been the only constant in her life. She has worked on numerous comic collaborations, ranging from children’s fantasy to paranormal horror. After being hit by a freak meteor, she decided life was short and enrolled with the Center for Cartoon Studies in White River Junction, Vermont.
